Apple’s “F1” film takes half a billion on the box office

Apple’s first real hit film for the cinema, the Formula 1 drama “F1”, has now exceeded a new record value. Apple and its partners took over half a billion US dollars, exactly 509 million at the CHARE CONCLUSION until last weekend. This is reported by the US stock exchange transmitter CNBC.

Most of the money does not come from the USA, but the international markets. Tickets for $ 165 million were sold in Apple’s home market, and $ 344 million was international. This could make Apple succeed in overtaking all Apple TV+films in their sales overall. For example, “Napoleon” (Ridley Scott) had recorded 221 million, “Fly Me To The Moon” (with Scarlett Johansson) only 96 million and “Killers of the Flower Moon” (a Martin Scorsese film).

At the moment it looks like Apple could succeed in skipping the $ 600 million rate. The film would be refinanced. It is said to have cost up to $ 400 million, in addition (certainly not low) marketing editions. However, it would also be conceivable that the strip remains just below its overall budget. However, the evaluations about the actual main channel, Apple’s in -house streaming service TV+, are not included. The cinema revenues are ultimately just a “bonus”, because Apple also sees the spread of cinemas as an advertisement for its streaming offer.

“F1” should start on Apple TV+ in autumn, and it is currently expected in September. The theatrical release for “F1” was on June 25th. In August there could also be a smaller boost for “F1”: Apple decided again, again With an IMAX version in the cinemas to come that was already available on the opening weekend of the film.

“F1” is about an aging Formula 1 pilot, the Brad Pitt Mimt. He has set himself the task of coaching a young driver and then celebrating new successes with this. Apple is now said to have got a taste for Formula 1 and are planning to secure the US remote rights for TV+. Apple boss Tim Cook (64) is considered a large Formula 1 fan.
