Apple Watch Ultra 3: screen could be larger

Fans of the Apple Watch Ultra were disappointed by the manufacturer last autumn: Together with the (significantly improved) Series 10 of the regular computer clock, just an additional dark color version of the Ultra 2 was launched without changing it internally. The “punishment” followed on the foot: Apple’s Wearables department has been in sales for several quarters. All eyes are therefore focused on this September: As part of the iPhone 17 keynote, which is probably increasing on the 9th of the month, the Ultra 3 is expected. Further details have now been leaked: larger technical innovations can be expected.

This week it came to light that Apple’s top smart watch will have a slightly larger screen in the future-at least in terms of resolution. Code leak expert Aaron Perris When looking through the latest developer beta of iOS 26, it found that in the future they could be 422 by 514 pixels instead of only 410 by 502 pixels. A picture in the operating system that belongs to the Apple Watch, this closes. 422 times 514 pixels do not yet use Apple computer clock.

For comparison: The enlarged Series 10 comes with 416 by 496 pixels, interferingly not all complications that the ultra dominates. The higher resolution probably does not mean that the Ultra 3 is larger than the pre-model-Apple should rather reduce the display edge. This strategy has been used for several generations of the computer clock on the market for 10 years this year. The practical effects that will have more of pixels cannot yet be said. The 12 more pixels more in the X and Y directions should not offer enough space for additional widgets, but at least the sharpness could be increased minimally.

In addition to the better screen, the rumor mill also runs out of a brisk chip (system-in-a-package, SIP), the screen could have a higher image change frequency in always-on mode (also thanks to LTPO3 and the readability, thanks to Wide-Angle-Oled. Watch basically only LTE) and satellite communication at least for the exchange of text messages.

After all, there has been hope for the first time that Apple will implement blood pressure measurement in an Apple Watch for the first time. This could be achieved by optical sensor, but newly developed algorithms would have to ensure that the accuracy fits. In principle, it would be conceivable that Apple does not indicate any real blood pressure values, but only records deviations of a standard value in order to send warnings to the user if necessary. The company is already acting similarly With body temperature.
