Apple is supposed to convert user interfaces

Apple users are a revolution in the house. According to a report, the group prepares fundamental changes to the user interfaces from iPhones, iPads and Macs. The new design is based on the software of the Vision Pro, although consumers do not exactly tear the headset Apple out of their hands.

The reports Bloomberg Citing Apple insiders not named by name. The changes will therefore apply with iOS version 19 and Ipados 19 and MacOS 16. There is no official confirmation of Apple, but also no Dementi.

The planned changes should be much deeper than just a new design language and aesthetic changes, for example on the round icons and transparent windows that are common in Vision ProS. Apple wants to change navigation and device management to make it easier, says Bloomberg, which writes about “one of the most dramatic software revisions in the history of Apple”.

Economic background is the hope of being able to boost demand through new appearance. The sales figures for the draft horse iPhone have recently fallen slightly. However, Apple risks to scare users and app providers who do not want to change or do not want to invest in redesigns of their applications. According to unconfirmed, iOS 19 should also find its way into older iPhones: with XR, XS and XS Max Los, which were published in autumn 2018, all SE models from Generation 2 from 2020, and iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and of course 16, each in the variants Standard, Mini (12, 13), Pro, Pro Max and Plus (14, 16). As usual, however, it can be expected that not all functions are also available for all devices.

In any case, it would be a turning point; For around 30 years, Jony Ive was chief designer Apple's, until he left in 2019 and founded his own company. Numerous Apple employees followed him. Nevertheless, Ive's work is still unmistakable in iOS, MacOS and iPados. But now his handwriting could be replaced by that of his successor Alan Dye.

The official announcement is intended to be a major topic of the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) Apple's in June. Perhaps less about Apple's difficulties with Apple Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be talked.
