In the second developer version of the operating system, which is expected in April, Apple wants to improve the user experience when browsing the software shop. It initially remained unclear whether the function was implemented locally on the device or runs in Apple's cloud. Since it is public data, treatment directly on Apple's servers would not be a privacy problem. Apple takes data protection very seriously at Apple Intelligence and often relies on local large voice models and image generators. If these are not sufficient, the private cloud computation technology is used, in which the user information is encrypted in Apple's data centers without the group being experienced.
Database larger than with news
The summary of user reviews is by no means new. Amazon has had a similar function for its star reviews for several months. It appears above the user -generated ratings and should provide a quick overview. At Apple, for example, a game app is “complex”, but also a “worthwhile challenge”. But criticism is also summarized, for example because the game is too short or too long.
Apple had previously stepped into some fat with its summary function (AI Summaries). BBC news about fake news and private impersonation messages were incorrectly combined. However, the existing database is very small here, while there are often dozens of to thousands in the app store reviews. Here it should be easier for the voice model to do its work. Apple Intelligence should also be available in German for the first time in April 18.4 in April.
