Apple Intelligence: Siri advertising changed, update reactivates AI again

Apple's AI system has to deal with delays. At the same time, Apple tries to keep users of the existing functions on the shelf. This is shown by two current developments from this week.

Self-censorship to the Siri context

The iPhone manufacturer, after confirming at the end of last week that important announced Siri-Ki features will be postponed to the coming year, cleaned up in his online appearance. After only one advertising video from YouTube had been deleted, which showed one of the functions that came later, the language regulation on Apple.com also changes. It said on the Description page for iOS 18 So far, Siri will not only understand language better, but also “the personal context of the user”, the last point is now completely missing. Instead, Apple only points out that Siri can spit a support article (“Expansive Product Knowledge About Your Devices”), a feature that has existed for a long time.

Incidentally, Apple has not yet touched the German language version. Here it is also spoken of the “beginning of a new era for Siri”, which has a better understanding “for your (n) personal context” and Siri makes it “more helpful than ever”. Apple had previously admitted that you have to invest more work for the Siri context “than we thought”. The group did not give a specific date, but it won't be anything before iOS 19. If Apple is fully capable of the specified year, it would be the case in spring 2026. Among other things, the Siri context should help ask direct questions about past activities, for example when you met a specific person if the appointment is on the calendar.

Apple Intelligence turned back

Meanwhile, users who have installed iOS 18.3.2 who appeared on Wednesday night report on the update that was re -reactivated by Apple Intelligence. Apple had also handled this in the previous version, although it does not happen confusingly with all users.

The reactivation of Apple Intelligence after an explicit shutdown is not only annoying, but also has practical consequences: Apple Intelligence occupies between 4 and 7 GB of storage space on the device that you may want to use for other things.
