Apple, however, may not remove the Camera Control button from the iPhone 18 but simplify its structure

A few days ago, a curious rumor appeared that Apple was planning the removal of the Camera Control button, starting with the iPhone 18 series due to low users. Now, however, another, much more reliable source, says that the company may not actually be deprived of the button, but simplify its structure.

Chinese blogger Instant Digital In his publication on the social network Weibo, Apple plans to not eliminate the control button, but to simplify the way it is structured.

The current version of the button is a set of two sensors – a capacitive sensor and a sensitive sensor. Blogger sources claim that appleP plans to remove the capacitive sensor, leaving the Camera Control option to control the button only with its second sensor.

Instant Digital also shares that such solutions can be found in devices such as the Oppo X8 Ultra and VIVO X200 Ultra, where certain buttons use only a sensor sensitive and can freely detect light and stronger presses, as well as gestures made by sliding.

The main reason for this move on Apple is related to the pricing of the components for the manufacture of the button, which, at least at this point, is much higher than the price limit that the company has set.

The delayed development of Apple Intelligence, on the other hand, makes the high engagement of users with the Camera Control button more difficult, given that many of the features provided for it are related to the AI package.
