Apple hardware leak on X: First parts of a “Vision Air” appeared?

In addition to its high price of currently just under 4000 euros, the vision of the Vision Pro is primarily annoying their form factor: the headset is too big and too heavy, with external battery you never know where to lie down. There should be improvements with a second model. A collector of Apple prototype technology has now published details including pictures of a power cable-and calls the product “Vision Air”. What is on the leak remains unclear – the information supplied sounds at least quite realistic, although it would be unusual if there was such a early leak out of the supply chain.

As @kosutami_ito continues, the new color should be a “graphite-like dark blue”, which Apple may call “Midnight Black”. Internal structures of the device use Titan to reduce weight, but the housing should continue to be aluminum, just with the new surface. Several published Pictures Show the bayonet connection of the connection cable for the battery on the side of the “Vision Air” and the proprietary plug that hangs on the battery itself.

While the bayonet connection looks similar to the current – except for the new color of the housing and a black, braided cable – there is At the connector on the battery side One change: he has eight pins instead of the currently twelve. Apple may have redesigned and (hopefully) redesigned the battery, but remains with the concept of outsourcing the battery. (Interestingly, this is also planning the competition from Samsung.) Despite the PIN reduction, the plug is supposedly “wider” and a little shorter.

At the moment there is talk in the rumor mill that a second vision Pro with M5 SoC could be released in autumn 2025 or spring 2026. It remains unclear whether the “Vision Air” is a second product that is marketed in parallel with a “Vision Pro 2”.

It would also be conceivable that Apple will leave the current vision Pro on the market and launch an Air model in parallel. Since there was only one generation of the Vision Pro so far, the sales strategy of successor models has not yet been secure. However, the demand for the Vision Pro should be limited due to the price. Production is said to have already been shut down.
