At the end of April, the European Union fined Apple with € 500 million due to violations and refusal to implement some of the rules in the digital market act in force within the Union. Now, two and a half months later, apple is ready to appeal the grave measure, claiming that the fine imposed by the European Commission is greater than necessary.
According to Apple’s statement, the unprecedented fine for the company goes beyond the pre -identity, and the rules imposed are harmful to both consumers and iOS applications developers.
The fine that the Kupertino giant received was related to the restrictions and bans that stood before the developers if they wanted to direct their customers to alternative places to buy additional content and make transactions.
Apple has recently introduced major changes to the App Store in the European Union, which address the regulators raised by regulators. However, the changes have brought with them new fees for developers who can potentially lead to new criminal processions.
Among the arguments for appeal by the technological conglomerate are the allegations that with the imposition of part of the rules of the digital market act, the EU intervenes in the business of the company, which goes beyond the powers of its regulators. Whether such an approach will be able to get rid of Apple from the salt fine remains to be seen.
