Apple’s wireless headsets will soon receive new opportunities, including new control gestures and remote control of the iPhone camera, reports 9to5mac.comS These improvements can be announced next week during the WWDC 2025.
Among the innovations for AirPods will be new gestures to control their various functions. Apple has already introduced an opportunity by nodding or shaking a head to be accepted or refused incoming calls, and will soon add more. According to the source, one of the new options will be with a certain gesture to manage the Conversation Awareness function.
Another novelty for Apple’s headphones will be the automatic recognition that the wearer is asleep. If that happens – AirPods will stop the music or podcast that runs to pause.
However, the most interesting upgrade will be the AirPods Camera Control – or the ability to manage the iPhone or iPad camera with the headphones. For example, by squeezing the stem of AirPods, users could remotely start a timer and prepare for a photo.
Other new features are a better microphone to make the headphones an even better option for playing video.
Some of these or all new AirPods extras can be announced as early as Monday, June 9, when the Apple Developer Conference begins in Cupertino.
