So far at Apple: First the iPhone, then nothing, then the Mac. In terms of sales, this is still the case: In the last Apple finance quarter, the iPhone achieved sales of $ 46.8 billion from January to March, while the Mac reached $ 7.9 billion. The iPad was third in the central hardware products with $ 6.4 billion (wearables, home and accessories reached 7.5 billion). However, according to an investigation by the market research company Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), the tablets for Apple are becoming increasingly important: more and more users are interested in the iPad directly after the iPhone.
Apple does not name any quantities
According to the current CIRP quarterly survey among Apple users, iPad penetration is significantly higher than is generally known. In the United States, as expected, the iPhone was the most common product in an “Apple household” at 94 percent. But right behind the iPad was 78 percent. The Mac finished third with 36 percent. Since the average price for the tablets is below the Mac, the difference in sales is also explained. Apple has no more information about the number sold.
Also interesting: 74 percent of Apple customers had both an iPhone and an iPad, i.e. only 4 percent less than all iPad owners. In contrast, iPhone, iPad and Mac are only present in Apple customers surveyed in 30 percent of the surveyed. The result shows: Apple actually hits a nerve with the iPad and still has a lot of room for improvement in the Mac despite current sales highs.
IPADOS 26 clearly pimped up
Apple recently announced the successor to Ipados 18. Ipados 26 (new version number scheme) comes in autumn and will deliver numerous new features. This includes improved file management and in particular the option of using regular windows on the tablet. Furthermore, multitasking was improved, and regular background processes are finally possible.
Meanwhile, the product range on the iPad remains large to confusing: in addition to the entry-level IPAD without further product designation, the iPad Air, the iPad Pro and the iPad mini are still available. Apple will offer ipados 26 for many older models, whereby there can be restrictions.
