Amazon wants to buy the AI company Bee. This was confirmed by the tech giant US media. Previously, the CEO of Bee on LinkedIn reported about the planned takeover. Both parties are silent about the financial details of the deal.
Bee is a US start-up that develops a AI wearable for the wrist. The gadget looks like a normal fitness bracelet, but is much more attentive: it has installed microphones that can listen to permanently. A personal AI assistant is fed out of the talks drawn with the Bee app.
The $ 50 gadget If currently only delivered to the USA, 40 different languages should support. If you are afraid of a spy on the wrist, you can switch off the microphones at any time – but then also lose the main function of the bracelet.
It is unclear whether Amazon wants to drive the development of the AI argument or BEE mainly for the know-how of employees. All employees of the start-up should be given the opportunity to work on Amazon, said a spokesman The Verge.
Alexa+ is slowly progressing
With his attempts to implement a new generation of ALEXA, the American tech giant only progresses slowly. The new version of Alexa+ has been postponed several times, problems during development are well documented by numerous media reports.
In Germany, Alexa+, which is planned as a paid additional offer to the previous Alexa assistant, cannot yet book. In the United States, the service is currently still in the early signing phase. It remains to be seen whether the new, smart Alexa will no longer be only in loudspeakers, but also in bracelets.
