Apple continues to make an advertisement for its new Siri functions, although they will probably only be released in 2026. Disclaimer, however, were added to the group's US website, which say in the small print that it could still take a while. Interestingly, the restrictions are still missing in the German language version, although the functions were not mentioned in all places, as is the case in the American offer.
Disclaimer here, no disclaimer there
Example Apple-intelligence advertising page: Here in the US version, under the heading “The beginning of a new era for Siri”, the voice assistant is “awareness of her personal context” and “the possibility of carrying out actions in and across apps”. However, it is small below that personal context, in-app campaigns and the so-called onscreen Avareness, with which Siri can read the screen, “come to the devices in a future software update” and are currently still “developing”. The German version of the page Meanwhile, speaks of the personal context and the app campaigns without the disclaimer. Apple Intelligence should also be usable in German from April.
Apple has on the advertising side for the iPhone 16E placed the same disclaimer. There the opportunity to find out as an example of personal context is to find out when the mother's flight ends up. In the German version of the site, on the other hand, Apple uses a different picture and Just describethat Siri can also be activated by typing. The personal context was completely left out.
Criticism from the Apple scene
The shift in the new Siri AD functions had led to massive criticism of Apple's approach. The Apple blogger John Gruber writes about whom the iPhone Group had spread the information about the decision that it was “somewhat lazy in the state of Cupertino”.
Among other things, he fears that the demonstration of the functions last summer “bullshit” and a “concept video” were and at Apple there is now no one who assumes sufficient responsibility for the problems. In addition, said Gruber, this is a shame to do the credibility of the iPhone manufacturer.
