Recordings in portrait format move to the center
Instagram started to continue from the square photo format at the beginning of the year, which was a brand core of the platform for a long time. After a few tests in autumn, Instagram changed the first overview pages in January and shows the photos up there instead of square. At the time, Mosseri had admitted that some “really like” the old format and that it was a tradition on Instagram: “But most of the content that is now uploaded – whether photos or videos – are now upright.” It is a shame to always have to cut them off.
