Adobe brings the new AI video model Ray3 from Luma Ai to its web app for generative KI Firefly. For the first two weeks after the start, the model is only available there and on Luma’s own Dream Machine platform.
Adobe has integrated several third-party AI models from third-party providers in Firefly since the beginning of the year. Since April, Firefly contains the image generators Openai GPT, Google Imagen 3 and Flux from Black Forest Labs. Adobe Google Gemini 2.5 Flash Image integrated in Firefly last month.
More consistency in generated videos
Ray3 is the first “Reasoning Video Model” by Luma Ai. The AI should not only generate scenes on the basis of the prompt, but also design it, plan intermediate steps and evaluate its own results. Compared to previous video models, the approach promises more consistent movements, more logical scene sequences and figures that remain stable over several frames.
According to the manufacturer, the video model generates clips in HDR in accordance with the ACES2065-1-EXR production standard-optionally with 10, 12 or 16-bit color depth. This should make it particularly interesting for professional video editing. By default, there are clips in 1080p. A AI upscaler expects you to 4K. The maximum video length is limited to ten seconds.
The model offers a draft fashion for ideas that calculates test videos up to 20 times faster in low quality according to Adobe. In addition to text prompts, the model also takes pictures as input. It can extend existing video clips and generate seamless processes with the loop function.
Takeover in Premiere Pro
Integration in Firefly offers creative cloud users the advantage that content can be handed over directly to Adobe applications, for example to the video editing Premiere Pro. Adobe emphasizes that all content is provided with content credentials and are not used for training further models.
