At an event for the media in Sofia this morning, A1 announced that it was the first operator in Bulgaria to offer the full portfolio of Apple smart devices. This includes iPhone, iPad, AirPods, and an Apple Watch for several days.
The big news is that Apple Watch is now available by A1, with the telecom only selling 4G LTE versions. The three latest series are available – the Apple Watch Ultra 2, the Apple Watch Series 10 and the Apple Watch SE 2.
Customers will be able to activate ESIM on these devices and thus make them independent of their smartphone. Calls will be able to be made through the watch or internet connection without the need for the phone to be around. This is done with the EXTRA SIM service, which duplicates the main voice plan number on the smart watch. The price of Extra SIM is 4.99 BGN/month, but for the first 3 months there is no fee if you activate it until the end of September.
Interestingly, Apple Watch can also be used by a child who does not have to have an iPhone at all. In this case, the watch is adjusted by the parent and has its own number.
A1 announced that, according to their data, smart watches are still a little popular and their entry into the market is only 10-12%. An annual growth of 11%is expected and the average sale price is currently around 600 BGN, but the interest in the premium segment is increasing.
With the addition of Apple Watch to their A1 portfolio, they said they wanted to turn into a number one place that users think of when buying devices with this brand.
Smart watches are available in A1 at prices from 579.99 BGN in cash for the Apple Watch SE, from 1089.99 BGN for Series 10 and 1689.99 BGN for Ultra 2 with Unlimited Ultra plan.
Recently, A1 started offering Apple’s latest tablets-the iPad 11th generation and iPad Air with M3 chip.
