A plus to fitness: Apple Fitness+ in the test

In addition, a lot has changed in recent years. At the beginning of the year, new categories and training programs have just been added. Apple has also promised closer cooperation with the Strava fitness network. We took a close look at Fitness+ again – in long -term use over many months.

Fitness+ now works without Apple Watch, that was not the case at first. An iPhone remains a prerequisite, and the service can only be called up on Apple devices: A web version accessible via browser is missing, as is an Android app. The workouts come to the television via Apple TV or via AirPlay streaming, alternatively an iPad serves as a medium-sized screen. AirPlay also brings the service to the Mac, but here the otherwise displayed live data are missing. In order to see the heart rate and the activity rings otherwise during training, an Apple Watch is still needed. Apple continues to build on motivating elements such as awards and the possibility of measuring themselves with friends, Apple continues to make the smartwatch.
