Chipolo tracker supports Apple’s “Where is?” and Google’s “Find my device”

The Slovenian Bluetooth tracker specialist Chipolo has launched a new device that combines two worlds in one: the new pop comes optionally with Apple’s “where is?”-world as well as with Google’s “Search my device”-but not at the same time. The tracker is available in six colors and, unlike Apple’s Airtags, has a hole for connecting to a keychain. Pop should be compatible with current versions of iOS (from 14.5) and Android (9+) without further app. Alternatively, Chipolo offers its own software with which settings can be made, such as the tracker of the tracker.

POP Comes with an interchangeable CR2032 battery and is protected against dust and water spritzers according to IP55. The term per battery is up to one year. The Bluetooth reception area should be around 90 meters. Individually, the pop costs 35 euros, a package with four pops costs 105 euros, one with six pops 149 euros.

This means that you pay less than 25 euros per unit, which is something above the current one Street price of Airtags in four -pack (from € 91.90) lies. Ultra-Wideband support (UWB) for precise tracking in the centimeter area unfortunately does not support pop, which is (unfortunately) still normal for third-party trackers.

Unfortunately, there is no flying change between Android and iOS. Either pop with Apple’s “Where is?” Or with Google’s “search for my device”. To combine both networks, has not yet been planned. Anyone who does not yet know whether it remains in the Apple or Android world has at least the option of continuing to use the hardware.

Chipolo states that the volume of pop is “loud”. There is also an “Out of Range” alarm under Android. At double the push of a button you can also ring your smartphone if you have laid it. Otherwise, the range of functions lies on that of the Airtag, minus of the UWB option. Chipolo has been in the Bluetooth tracker shop for over ten years-initially only with his own network. Later there were also devices with compatibility with the Apple network. The company also offers its own trackers only for Android and sells card -sized trackers for the wallet.
