There are stories that Apple boss Tim Cook particularly likes to take public: For several years, important keynote presentations have been opened more often with small films that show how emergency and health features of Apple Watch or iPhone help people to live a better life-or even save it. From a case that happened last summer, there was even an advertising campaign: in Australia, Apple advertises with a body case who could have saved the emergency truff function of his Apple Watch last year.
Driven off the coast
Rick Shearman, actually well -trained, was abandoned from the coast in the northeast of New South Wales during a strong wave. After all, it is said to have been almost one and a half kilometers away from the coast – impossible to swim back. He lost strength and fought against the sea. However, Shearman had his Apple Watch Ultra with a stored LTE mobile radio on the wrist, which he fortunately remembered in the extreme situation.
So he activated the Emergency-SOS functionthat can be triggered by holding the action button. In fact, he still had phone reception so far and was able to communicate the rescue workers. The emergency helpers then opened up with a helicopter while they remained in the phone with Shearman. “Please stay on the apparatus,” they told him.
Holded over water
The case was now in one by Apple about one -minute advertising clip transformsin which the accident was reproduced. With dramatic music and the victim as an actor, it is demonstrated how the action has expired. In the small print, however, Apple warns that the connection, which is available via mobile network or Wi-Fi-Calling, does not always come about.
In that case, Shearman is likely to have been twice: that he had his Apple Watch Ultra with him – and that it could (still) connect. In fact, this is almost impossible under water, so the rescued person always had to keep the clock over the head during the phone call. The Apple Watch praised a rescue organization when the case was circulating last summer. This and similar devices are “Game Changer”.
