Apple has imported 600 tonnes of India’s devices to the United States to outstrip Trump’s duties

Even the close relationship of Apple CEO Tim Cook does not always help because, according to sources of Yahoo Finance and Reuters in the last month apple has imported as much as 600 tonnes of devices in the United States from its factories in India. The company was in a hurry to take this move because of the duties that the new US administration imposes and plans to impose through its management.

According to sources of both editions, Apple has used 6 cargo planes since the beginning of March, each with a capacity of 100 tonnes to bring about 600 tonnes of devices to the United States. The reason? The new duties that the US administration imposes on all its trading partners.

For example, the new duties that the US has imposed on India, for example, is 26%. This would certainly reflect on the final price of many Apple products, including that of the most important part of the tianho portfolio – the iPhone.

Yahoo and Reuters added that the technological giant has used its contacts locally to reduce the liberation process of Indian customs from 30 to 6 hours, as well as to secure a green corridor for the faster arrival of cargo aircraft as quickly as possible.

Considering that an iPhone 14, along with the charging cable and its box, weighs about 350 grams, on rough bills, Apple has managed to bring nearly 1.5 million of its smartphones before the new commercial measures come into force. A really impressive amount, but hardly the one that will take them for a long time.

At this point, Apple devices manufactured in India represent only about 20% of the company’s overall annual production. Considering that iPhone sales amounted to about 220 million a year, the bigger problem for Kupertino giants is yet to come because the current duties of 125%imposed by the United States to China would make their smartphones more than unbearable for the average consumer.
