Final Cut Pro: Updates for Mac and iPad including image generators

Cutter and video filmers should take a look at the update function of the App Store: A large update for Final Cut Pro has been available for download since Thursday evening. Both the MacOS version (now 11.1) as well as Final Cut Pro for the iPad (now 2.2). Among other things, Apple has implemented new AI features, or got existing Apple intelligence functions in Final Cut Pro. The latter are – probably – from next week with MacOS 15.4 and Ipados 18.4 also available in German; Currently you are only in English and an app store account from an area Outside the EU and China usable.

On the Mac, Final Cut Pro 11.1 is now possible to assign effects and color corrections to an adaptation clip via the timeline – several clips at the same time. The magnetic masks are faster, less prone to errors and have a new keyboard shortcut for the editor's in and hidden. Quantec-QRS effects for audio hall are implemented to simulate rooms. Audio effects can now also be renamed in the information window.

The browser now shows which source of multicam clips and synchronized clips have. The handling of markers in the timeline has also been improved- they can be pulled and out in clips. With Image Playground, an Apple intelligence image generator also ends up in Final Cut Pro 11.1. “Create images based on a description, proposed concepts or people from your photo media library with Apple Intelligence,” writes Apple. This works from MacOS 15.2 and with Macs that have at least one M1. Final Cut Pro costs 350 euros. With the final cutpro update, updates for Motion (5.10) and Compressor (4.10).

Final Cut Pro 2.2 For the iPad, more work processes can now also do in portrait format. The selection can also be moved, replaced by gaps and extract for the primary storyline with a keyboard command (with Magic Keyboard or another keyboard). The iPad version of Final Cut Pro can now also edit and publish with 50 FPS.

With integrated image Playground, images can be created using Apple Intelligence – in the same way as on the Mac. It should be borne in mind that Apple does not provide photo -realistic recordings, as you know this from other image generators.
