Garmin Connect: 9 euros a month for additional functions

Garmin has announced a subscription for his Garmin Connect fitness platform. Garmin Connect+ should provide 9 euros a month and provide additional functions in the smartphone app, said the company founded in Switzerland.

Basically, Garmin Connect remains free of charge, all the features offered so far should continue to be able to use users. Garmin integrates some new features into the Connect+subscription that has not yet been available. The company, for example, praises “Active Intelligence” as a large innovation, a AI function that should provide personalized insights and suggestions based on health and activity data throughout the day. Garmin emphasizes that user data should remain safe, without responding to more details.

New in Garmin Connect+ is also a performance dashboard in which user can view and edit graphs in order to get a more precise impression of your training progress. With a smartphone and smartwatch, it should also be possible to see heart rate and speed data in real time thanks to expanded live tracking.

The app can also be automated so that it sends friends or family a text message when activities are started. Such social features should motivate more sport. This supports Garmin in Connect+ with some gamification gimmicks such as challenges that can be used to unlock badges.

Garmin Connect+ can be subscribed to every month for 9 euros. In addition, the company offers an annual subscription for 90 euros – a saving of 16 percent compared to monthly payments over a year. The Garmin Connect app can be downloaded for iOS and Android devices. The subscription can now be booked via the apps. In addition to Garmin, competitors such as Apple and Huawei also offer paid additional features for their fitness trackers.
