After there were hardly 5K displays left for years, movement is slowly moving back into the market. The PA27JCV comes from the ProArt series from Asus, which is aimed at graphic artists and video artists. With a list price of around 950 euros, it is not cheap, but costs significantly less than the 1750 euro Apple Studio Display.
The slim umbrella has a black plastic housing with narrow edges to the sides and to the top edge. Undetent: If you tap the monitor on, it sees for a few more seconds. The PA27JCV can be adjusted in height, tilted and turned 90 degrees into portrait. Before you do this, you should tilt the display a little, otherwise it will hit your own foot.
Connections and KVM
The ProAart PA27JCV is operated via six buttons and the small joystick on the front edge. At the back of the connection field he has an HDMI and DisplayPort and a USB-C input for video signals. However, Thunderbolt is not due. The USB-C port invites a connected MacBook via Power Delivery with up to 96 watts.
