The upcoming smartphones in the iPhone 17 series are expected to use Apple's A19 and A19 Pro chipsets, but that doesn't mean working on next A20 is no longer running with full force. According to analyst Jeff Pue The platform is expected to be part of the Phone 18 next year, and it should include serious improvements related to Apple Intelligence.
Apple's A20 series chips are likely to use the next-generation TSMC 3NM technology, also known as the N3P. This is the same process that this year's A19 and A19 Pro chips will be made.
Staying 3nm means that the iPhone 18 will also be powered by this technology, while Apple is preparing the development and exit of A21 in 2027. It should also become the company's first mobile chip to use a 2-nanometer technology and we can expect it earlier in the iPhone 19.
And although the A20 performance jumps are not expected to be so impressive, the chip will receive a lot of large -scale improvements related to artificial intelligence -based features.
They will express themselves in the use of technology Taiwanese company Cowos (Chip On Wafer on Substrate), which allows better integration between the processor, the RAM and the Neural Engine of the chipset. Of course, in order for the A20 to show its true power, the more sophisticated features of the Apple AI package must first be available for users – something that at least for now seems like mission impossibleS
