After a long waiting time: beginner IPAD also dominates Final Cut Pro

Apple's 11th generation, which has recently been on the market, comes with a great disappointment: the built-in A16 bionic chip from the 2022 vintage does not dominate any Apple Intelligence. Nevertheless, this ensures that the IPAD 10 accelerated SOC that you can do more with the entry -level model. Apple now has that In the English -language system requirements confirmed by Final Cut Pro: For the first time, the smallest iPad also dominates the professional video editing program on the tablet.

One of the reasons should be that the A16 Bionic-in contrast to iPad 10 with its A14 Bionic-brings 6 GB LPDDR5X-RAM instead of only 4 GB LPDDDR4X. Apple now writes that Final Cut Pro for the iPad needs at least iPados 17.6 and a device with an M-Series SoC or an A16 or later. Before – and still In the German language version of the document -it was called M-Series or A17 Pro.

Final Cut Pro offers a whole series of features that were previously only known on the Mac, also on Apple tablets. The software is also comparatively inexpensive for professionalware, is sold in the monthly or annual subscription (4.99 or 49 euros). 299 euros are due for the Mac version.

However, anyone who hoped to get the entire final cutpro function on the iPad 11 will unfortunately be disappointed. For example, recordings in Prores are not supported, just as little as the possibility of using the Apple Pencil to use the timeline too “Hover”. This has to do with hardware restrictions on iPad 11. In addition to Final Cut Pro runs also the IPADOS version of Logic Pro On the device, however, this was also used on iPads from the A12 Bionic.

The entry-level model is sold in Germany from 399 euros without 5G mobile radio. It is offered in four colors and has at least 128 GB. Fully equipped – with 512 GB and 5G – you can pay up to 949 euros. As mentioned, Apple Intelligence is not supported, although Apple's remaining line-up is now dominated, including the new iPhone 16E, which now forms the start of the iPhones. Only iPhone 15 and 15 Plus from 2023, which Apple is currently selling further, does not support Apple Intelligence either.
