There are Apple products that have been around in the USA and other markets for years, but for unclear reasons, they do not make it into the rest of the world. This includes the credit card Apple Card or the Apple Cash function, with which you can quickly Send money from person to person can. With a moderately international feature so far, there is now hope: the so -called Apple Account Card. This is a virtual credit card in Apple's wallet, with which you can buy various Apple products-from the app in the App Store to a service subscription to hardware in the Apple Retail Store.
Apple credit directly in the wallet
Apple's voucher system itself has also been in Europe for a small eternity. It was once known as an iTunes credit for the purchase of music and films, now it is largely freely available Apple credit. It can be purchased in the supermarket via voucher cards or also buy online. A code is used for redemption that represents a certain sum. Since 2022, the Apple credit has also been available in the form of the Apple Account Card in the Apple Wallet, Apple's virtual wallet on iPhone, iPad and Mac, in which credit cards, loyality cards and entry tickets also land. However, this was initially implemented only in the United States.
This is above all a convenience feature: you no longer have to go to the account settings (such as in the App Store) to see your credit, it has been shown directly in the wallet since then. In addition, you can pay directly in the Apple Retail Store by presenting the code of the virtual card. It is also possible in the wallet to load credit on the Apple Account Card using debit or credit card, which also saves clicks.
Switzerland and Austria, Germany is missing
As now this week the leak expert and developer Nicolas Alvarez wrote on xshould the Apple Account Card be rolled out in at least six other countries in the future. These are Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. Apparently, the function is linked to a “future software update”, so far there has been no direct release. In addition to the United States, only Canada, Japan and Australia have been supported.
It is unclear why the Apple Account Card does not come to other EU countries like Germany. Since it is an internal payment system, Apple shouldn't actually have any regulatory hurdles, especially since the use of the goodhies via the wallet simply makes an existing feature more convenient.
