As part of the current beta test of iOS 18.4, Apple has again made changes to its popular photo app. This had been greatly revised as part of iOS 18, which not all users liked (tips on the update). The new features should also end up in the final version of iOS 18.4, which is expected until April.

Better filter – even more unusual applications
This is how Apple Craums at the sorting options. In the future, it will be possible in the album view to search for the change date, which is particularly helpful if you rework images more often. In addition, the view names were revised, which should make it more understandable (initially in English).
With the filters you can now find photos and videos directly via the context menu that shared with the user became. You can also select photos that have not yet been in an album – very practical if you want to clean up your photo collection. Furthermore, you can only display albums or folders via the menu.
Hide more albums and delete faster
Apple also screwed on data protection or privacy. So you can now have the albums with the recently viewed or recently shared photos and videos hide by default – and not just the hidden albums.
Apple has also made an improvement when deleting and restoring images. Instead of sorting pictures and videos individually, there is a new “Delete all” button. Conversely, you can restore all the shots in the trash can with just one push of a button. It is surprising that the feature is now only available.
Apple is capable of learning on the photo app
All in all, the new functions show that Apple continues to screw on the photo app and is willing to improve it. Initially there had been massive criticism of the new surface, since, at least at first glance, it differs greatly from the old and is significantly less “straight forward”. It remains to be seen whether Apple is still screwing on other photo functions-iOS 18.5 is probably planned for May.
