VR hustle and bustle ahead: Vision Pro M5 and Galaxy XR | TNBT Podcast

The sluggish market for VR headsets is suddenly moving: Apple has brought the Vision Pro up to date with the nimble M5 and is tackling one of the headset’s big problems with a new headband. At the same time, Samsung is launching its first direct competitor with Android XR with the Galaxy XR – with obviously similarly excellent OLED microdisplays, but at practically half the price of the Vision Pro.

In episode 56, Leo Becker and Mark Zimmermann, Head of Mobile Solutions at EnBW, talk about their concrete experiences with the Vision Pro M5. We look at whether the more powerful chip can tease more out of the headset and whether the new headband really does anything. Zimmermann reports on his first amazing experiences with Logitech, the 3D pen Muse intended for the Vision Pro. We also discuss Samsung’s Galaxy XR and what the competition means for Apple.

1984, 2007, 2024 – Apple’s Vision Pro is following in huge footsteps: Mac and iPhone have not only made history, but also fundamentally changed how we use computers.

Mac & i accompanies the Vision Pro as well as the opportunities and hurdles of “spatial computing” with its own podcast: TNBT – The Next (Big) Thing sheds light on the latest developments around the new platform and their impact on the IT industry and society.

TNBT can be found in all major podcast directories and can be used with Apple Podcasts and Spotify or as a RSS feed in the podcast app of your choice. We are looking forward to questions, suggestions and criticism, among [email protected].
