Apple’s video streaming platform, Apple TV+, has made a small but significant change to its branding, reports MacRumors, with the new service name coming into use immediately.
As of today, Apple TV+ is now simply called Apple TV. In typical minimalist style, with which the company usually introduces such changes, the rebranding was noticed in the press release for the streaming premiere of the box office hit F1 with Brad Pitt.
In the text of the publication, it is clear that the plus that accompanied the name of the streamer from its very creation is no longer absent. Although some users online doubted that this may have been a mistake made in spelling accidentally, the new name was used several times in the message, which speaks of its authenticity.
This move of the Apple However, it may also lead to some confusion, as the company already uses the Apple TV name for its streaming set top-box devices, which can house both the streaming service and content purchased from iTunes and other video platform apps.
So far, the reason for the change has not been announced, and perhaps we will learn more during Apple’s supposed event this week, where we expect to see brand new hardware as well.
