Report: Apple continues to work on smart glasses without a display

Apple apparently continues to work internally on a project for smart glasses that is reminiscent of similar projects at Meta. This is reported by the financial news agency Bloomberg. Accordingly, the idea of producing Smart Glasses in the style of the Meta Ray Ban – according to the manufacturer – according to the manufacturer – and to provide “audio quality at the level of AirPods”. Apple could land a “smashhit” and it is extremely surprising that the company is not yet that far.

Apple allegedly already pursued corresponding plans Since 2024 – if not earlier. According to reports, the manufacturer had recently reported an internal project in which a glass -sized display should be connected to a Mac (or beforehand on an iPhone). The meta idea is much simpler: the Ray Ban models are simple glasses, into the AI technology including camera, speakers and microphones. You can take photos and videos with it and-at least in the USA-question the Meta-Ki assistant.

According to Bloomberg, Apple still discusses the idea of creating its own version of the Ray Ban glasses internally. “Such a product would not be a real AR device.” Nevertheless, the built -in AI offers a “fairly good user experience”. At the same time, Apple should also continue to work on Airpods that contain a camera. How far this project has advanced remains unclear.

Apple's headset Vision Pro is already on the market at many points: The device is too big, too heavy and too expensive, although it offers groundbreaking technology. Apple should of course know this internally and now invest differently than before – above all, the group is now concerned with making the devices easier and cheaper. But that could take years. A competitor to Meta's Ray Ban glasses would be an interim solution here.

However, there are problems here too: Apple's voice assistant Siri has by no means reached the level of competing AI assistants. Most recently, it was said that the group would postpone many new functions for Siri to the coming year.
