Apple works on a-probably more convenient-headband for his mixed reality headset Vision Pro. In the rumor mill, the fact that such a part of the second generation of the device will be of the device is already designed, now there are direct information from Apple. Backend code of the group, the View macrumors could speak of a so-called dual-knit band-one Double solo band made of knitted tissue. So far there is the same – next to the plenty of narrow Dual loop band – Only as a variants with a strap, now two could come.
Crossing from two existing products?
However, the idea is not new: 3D printing hobbyists already have Two solo knit bands connected to each other – via an adapter piece. In addition, the additional band of the Foxconn subsidiary Belkin, simply called headband for Vision Pro, combines a solo-knit band with an additional strap. Apple seems to have been inspired by this.
According to Macrumors, the new band could become a cross between the dual loop and solo knit band, albeit wider. This would not only be able to support the Vision Pro on the back of the head, but also on the head surface. This helps a lot with the weight distribution, although the solo-knit band looks more elegant. The component is very expensive individually: In the variants S, M and L you pay 115 euros each. For this there is a rotary wheel with which you can then adjust the seat – to put it on, it is turned up again after putting on.
New model on an approach, real improvement uncertain
Buyer of the vision per person has so far suffer from high weight (600 to 650 grams without an external battery) and just as much (at least 4000 euros). So far, sales have only been done via Apple itself, at its list prices. To do this, users praise the high -resolution screen and the system speed, but mostly complain about the long -term comfort.
There should be improvements with the Vision Pro 2, which is still expected for this year, even though large weight losses are not to be expected. Instead, Apple could include the better headband that said. Further innovation should be a faster M4 or M5 chip, at the moment Apple delivers the headset with the outdated M2.
