Adobe has announced an update for Premiere Pro. Version 25.5 comes with over 90 new effects, transitions and animations that the software manufacturer integrates into his video editing after taking over the company of the same name from the plug-in suite film. Adobe also expands audio processing and premiere Pro. In the animation software After Effects 25.5, Adobe has improved the handling of keyframes.
Film-Impact effects for premiere per
The heart of the update to Premiere Pro 25.5 is the integration of the film impact library. The software has previously offered an extensive collection of GPU accelerated effects and transitions as a plug-in suite: Grow FX lets text titles grow, Stroke FX draws contours. Long shadow fx drops long shadows, Rounded Crop FX ensures soft cut, direct blur creates a transition effect with blurring. A camera jack effect makes tripod shots look like they are on the shoulder. Adobe promises photo -realistic bokeh, volumetric rays, vignetting, halos and highlights. Red, green and blue channels can be moved independently of each other to correct the colors.
Adobe has seamlessly integrated the film impact tools into the Premiere Pro interface. You can be found in version 25.5 in the effect library under video transitions. Film Impact uses the libraries of Cuda, OpenCl and Apple Metal to present effects smoothly and render quickly. They should run out in real time as soon as you pull them onto an object with the mouse. According to Adobe, the goal is a response time of less than 0.1 seconds after the Play command.
A “Surprise-Me” button stimulates experimentation. The animation of text, video and graphics via drag & drop in Premiere Pro is intended to save the tedious incorporation into after effects and work with keyframes.
Extended format support
On Nvidia-Blackwell-GPUs, Premiere provides per hardware acceleration with the codecs H.264 and HEVC with a color depth of 10 bit and a color lower scanning of 4: 2: 2. The hardware acceleration of Canon Cinema Raw Light is intended to ensure more fluid reproduction and faster export.
Premiere Pro also supports the Arriraw HDE format (high density encoding), which is intended to compress 60 percent of the original file size.
Workflow improvements in After Effects
Adobe introduces “Quick Offset” in After Effects 25.5. With the tool, the positions of several keyframes or levels can be marked and moved simultaneously. So far, you had to click and move each level individually.
With zoom and navigation in the comp-viewer, Adobe has optimized the cache and thus accelerated the preview.
Prices and availability
The complete ABO Creative Cloud Pro with access to around 20 desktop applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Express, Premiere Pro and Acrobat Pro costs 78 euros per month. A single subscription from Adobe Premiere Pro costs 26 euros per month.
