Apple is planning to expand its services for the coming year. Like the financial news agency Bloomberg reportsthis time it’s about health services. This had already been reported about this last spring, and now they are allegedly planned for next year. The possible name: “Apple Health+”-based on the previous health app Health.
Compensation of the Google deal
The aim of such and other new services should also be to compensate for the potential loss of income from the search deal with Google. It is about $ 20 billion a year that are on the brink due to a antitrust procedure by the US Justice Ministry. Apple recently increased the prices for the Streaming Service Apple TV+, which is part of the service portfolio, significantly increased in the USA, but initially failed for Europe.
Apple Health+ should now become a kind of AI doctor, although Apple does not want to penetrate into the “real” medical area-this is not possible due to necessary approvals. Instead, “Medizinnahe” services are to be offered. According to Bloomberg, a “AI-based health coach” is planned, which helps to plan the food intake and makes recommendations on the basis of the existing health data. At the moment, Apple Health can warn, for example, in the event of irregular heart behavior, and vital values are also recorded and compared and sleep tracking is offered.
Workout Buddy as a new fitness service
Most recently, Apple presented a new function called Workout Buddy for Fitness+, which should give direct feedback during training – based on the Apple Watch data. The system is part of iOS 26 and Watchos 26. Apple relies on a new text-to-speech model with “dynamically generative voices”. They were developed based on the well-known fitness+trainers. “This is how your energy, your style and your tone fit the workout.”
Apple boss Tim Cook had emphasized several times that he thinks the health area for the sector in which Apple could contribute the most. The group’s dream still seems to be to make Apple Watch a kind of “medical laboratory on the wrist”. However, the expansion of new sensors finally stalled – the group in the USA also fights with prohibited due to possible patent violations. For a long time, Apple has been working on nonivasive recording of blood sugar levels. The Apple Watch should also be able to measure blood pressure promptly – at least changes. What Apple Health+ will cost and what the exact range of functions looks like, which should probably differ from region to region, is still unclear.
