Apple Watch: Real redesign only next year?

Apple should present new computer watches in a few weeks. Depending on the series, they should bring significant improvements, especially for an Apple Watch Ultra 3, many users hope. Nothing should change in the basic design of the smartwatch models, at least so far there have been no rumors. As it says from Taiwan, Apple is planning larger redesign at the Apple Watch for the coming year. A “Major Redesign” is planned, writes the electronic specialist sheet Digitimes, which appears in Taipei, citing Apple’s supply chain. When it comes to Apple rumors, however, the medium has a mixed track record-accordingly the information should be enjoyed with caution.

Changes to the exterior design of the Apple Watch

In principle, little has changed on the look of the Apple Watch since the first appearance in 2015. Display form, connection of the bracelets, sensors: everything was retained and/or minimally adapted. The resolution of the clock was enlarged, the edges became smaller, and different housing materials are also visible from a series to series. But it was only with the Apple Watch Ultra from 2022 that a “real” new form factor was added – a device that should be particularly durable. Possible plans that To change the form of the standard Apple Watchhowever, did not implement Apple. This is said to be planned for the coming year. But how strong these will actually fail is still unclear.

Digitimes writes that the Apple Watch for 2026 – then probably Apple Watch Series 12 – will have changes in the outer design. This includes conversions on the underside of the watch with the sensor areas. These should be “ring -shaped” in the form of eight different detectors and are visible for users by a glass cover. This is reminiscent of a supposedly prototype for the Apple Watch Series 10, the Made the round in May. It is unclear whether the structure corresponds to this look.

More space for sensors?

It is conceivable that Apple is preparing with the change in the installation of new sensors, such as the long -awaited blood pressure measurement. How the look of the computer clock could otherwise be changed – especially on the top – is not mentioned in the report.

The Apple Watch Series 10 is the thinnest Apple Watch. A (even) thinner housing that Bloomberg had predicted did not come, just as little as a new, magnetic locking system for bracelets.
