The Chinese IT manufacturer Beelink is primarily for his Production of PC-based Mac-Mini clones known. The company also uses this acquired competence to produce accessories for Apple users. This now includes two new SSD-based products that can significantly expand the Mac Mini M4 and Mac Studio M4 Max and M3 Ultra storage space.
Two SSDs and dock for the Mac Mini M4
The Beelink Mate Mini is a combination of dock and SSD housing. The system is (for the Mac Mini M4 Pro) with up to 80 GBPs via Thunderbolt 5 and contains two slots for M.2-SSDs (2280) including PCIe connection (up to 5.0). This means that up to 16 TB can be installed. The dock comes with a 2.5 GBPS Ethernet, audio connection (3.5 mm), SD-4.0 card reader and USB-A-3.0 ports.
The price is $ 139 (direct purchase plus shipping). A second model of the Beelink Mate Mini comes with just one SSD slot, but should be “speed-oriented” and offer a higher throughput. The price is the same. The device can be operated both via and under the Mac Mini M4, air comes through in both cases. An additional USB-C-PowerDelivery connection can be used for the power supply of energy hungry SSDs.
Mac Studio M4 Max and M3 Ultra with more space
The Beelink Mate Studio If there is a variant of the system for Apple’s small professional desktop Mac Studio with M4 Ultra or M3 max. At the price of $ 129 (plus shipping), there are no additional ports here, but only the memory expansion via two SSD slots. Here too, M.2 modules are supported and up to 16 TB are included. Here, too, there is an additional port for a power supply (if more than 15 watts are required, this is considered useful).
Both Beelink extensions can currently be pre-ordered, but the delivery takes a few more months. The aluminum used should have a quality similar to the original, so aesthetically the hardware does not fall out of an Apple setup. You have to buy the M.2 modules, with Beelink also offer complete packages with crucial SSDs on the Mate Mini.
