The revised generation of the Hue Smart button is a bit slimmer, but with a 45 mm larger than the previous version, which is only 32 mm in size. In terms of price, they do not differ and cost 22 euros each.
Hue Smart button complements smartphone or voice control
The new generation of the smart button is used to control smart home devices from the Philips Hue family without having to use the smartphone app. With the button, lights, sockets or groups can be switched on or off at the push of a button. With a long pressure on the button, users can also regulate the brightness.
In addition, the user can manually switch between different scenes. Depending on the time of day, different scenes with different light colors and intensities can also be determined. There is also a night mode with a dimmed light. It is also possible with the button to trigger fixed automation in advance.
The smart button is integrated into the domestic system as an accessory via the Hue app. Technically, the manufacturer at the new switch continues to focus on well -known standards such as Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth. Accordingly, a HUE bridge is required for integration into the smart home.
The compact button is powered by a commercially available CR2032 button cell, which, according to the manufacturer, should last for about two years with average use.
The smart switch is delivered with a magnetic mini holder. According to Philips, it can be attached to almost any surface or also used mobile. Using a mounting plate included in the delivery, the button is also used as a replacement for a classic switch – but this can only be glued. The second generation There is a screw -on wall bracket that is more reminiscent of a classic wall switch.
The new smart button can already be ordered from Signify at a price of almost 22 euros. It is only offered in the color white. The previous model is sold at the same price.
