Apple TV+: More content from Europe, including a hospital show from Berlin

Content from Germany and other world regions instead of just US content: Apple is increasingly relating to such series and films at its streaming service TV+. The reason is the demand from the customer: Netflix, even at Netflix, is not increasingly in demand from America. So should now A third of all views from the streaming market leader on videos, whose original language is not English. And that has long been going beyond “Squid Game” (South Korea) or “La Palma” (Norway).

Apple TV+ started the new show this week “Sick Berlin” alias “Berlin he”which deals with the conditions in a fictional hospital in the German capital, where serious illnesses encounter violence, drugs and party goers. Despite the clichéd representation of Berlin, they are first reviews quite positive. “A merciless and increasingly complicated health system forces the idiosyncratic team to put their differences aside to save lives together,” says Apple's description.

Other current TV+content that does not come from the USA are “Where's Wanda?” (also from Germany), “Midnight Family” and “You would do it too” (from Spain) or “La Maison” (from France). Approximately a new content of non-English nature is now to be created at Apple a month. Nevertheless, US series such as “Severance” or “Shrinking” are still in the foreground, so far the highest number of calls. Nevertheless, Apple tries to address a global audience.

“Sick Berlin” was originally planned for Sky, but there were abruptly ended German in -house productions. Apple, interestingly, then took over in cooperation with the public service youth broadcaster ZDFNEO, where the show will probably appear later. The script comes from Samuel Jefferson, who himself worked as an emergency doctor in Great Britain.

TV+ is offered for 9.99 euros a month, which is now cheap compared to Netflix or Disney+. However, there are still main production and only from time to time repertoire material such as cinema -classic, which will soon be removed from the program.
