Apple will not announce an integration of Gemini on Apple Intelligence on WWDC 2025

The planned integration of the Google AI assistant, Gemini, on Apple Intelligence, it doesn’t seem to happen as soon as many expected. According to Bloomberg information Apple does not plan to announce the Gemini integration during this year’s WWDC ’25 edition, starting on Monday, June 9th.

According to Bloomberg sources, although conversations and negotiations on the introduction of Gemini as part of Apple Intelligence and as a potential alternative to the Chatgpt AI package already available in the AI, the deal will not become a reality during the conference next week.

However, the obstacles to this are not technical, but rather legal. The current case that the US Department of Justice is leading against Google because of the deal between technology giant and Apple to integrate Google Search as a default Safari default search engine is a major thorn in the plans of both companies.

The announcement of a new partnership between them can only complicate Google and potential protection in upcoming court hearings. This would further make it difficult for the future plans of the two conglomerates for collaboration.

Bloomberg also adds that although Apple plans to integrate many other AI models into Apple Intelligence to perform and help many different processes and applications, news on the matter is not expected during the WWDC 2025, but rather later this year.
