After Samsung and Asus, Benq is now sending a competitor to the studio display with the PD2730S. The model comes from the design vue series and accommodates the 5K resolution (5180 × 2880 pixels) at 60 Hz on an image diagonal. With a pixel density of 218 dpi, the display is on par with Apple’s monitor, costs around 1200 euros But 550 euros less.
The comparatively thick monitor sits safely on his stand without wiggling. It can be easily turned with one hand, tilt, adjusted in height or tilt into the pivot mode. VESA assembly is also possible without the stand.
Connections and KVM
The rear connections point backwards and are easily accessible. With Thunderbolt 4 (90 watt charging power), HDMI and DisplayPort, there are enough contemporary inputs. The whole thing is supplemented by a Thunderbolt output, a USB hub with USB-C input, three USB-A sockets and a USB-C connection on the underside.
