“Active tests”: after WhatsApp comes Instagram on the iPad?

There are reports in which everything feels like a déjà vu-for example on news on the topic of Instagram for the iPad: year after year, meta Apple tablet users. At some point, even at some point, the photo and video service will appear in an adapted iPados version, the group always indicates. Most recently there were rumors again in April. The reason this time is supposed to be that Meta wants to reach tablet on the tablet. After what has now been published after a year and a half of a year and a half whatsapp for the iPad, the clues are condensed.

Zuckerberg was not a iPad fan

In the Apple newsletter of the Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman it was said on Sunday that WhatsApp for Ipados was only a “harbinger” of the Instagram version. “I was told that employees on Meta Instagram’s campus are already actively testing for the iPad and working on the development is in full swing.” But you shouldn’t be happy: the publication is to be expected “this year”, but only half of the year is around. In addition, there has been no public beta of Instagram for iPados, while the preliminary version WhatsApp was at least initially accessible to all interested parties via test flight.

The story of Instagram and the iPad version is long. Initially, meta boss Mark Zuckerberg personally made fun of the iPad and did not want to offer a client from Facebook-instead, users could use the safari browser. In 2011, an iPad version was published. Instagram, on the other hand, did not come to Apple tablets even after the purchase by Meta in 2012.

Inflated iPhone version

Apparently there was afraid that the app in large format would not look adequate – for example because of the comparatively low resolution that was once standard. This resulted in most iPad users Instagram used in the browser. iOS apps can usually be carried out on the iPad, but then look like inflated.

In the meantime, however, the technology continues, Instagram has beautiful pictures and videos and actually fits well on the Apple tablet. The long-awaited WhatsApp variant has so far received decent reviews. Above all, it is nice that you can use it in multitasking mode.
