Technology giant Apple has stopped developing a planned Apple Watch model with a built -in camera, Mark Gurman reportedS The smart watch version with an integrated camera was due to appear in 2007, along with the first Apple AirPods, including infrared cameras.
According to initial information from the journalist, the Apple Watch camera had to be positioned at the top of the display and the Apple Watch Ultra – near the crown. Its main application was expected to be for the use of the AI feature Visual Intelligence.
Through it, users would be able to receive information about their surroundings, landmarks, or a search location quickly, easily and intuitively. The Apple Watch chip, which had to help the realization of these ideas, was called the NEVIS code name and had to get into mass production in early 2027.
The reason why the company has abandoned its intentions and this type of technology can be revised in the future is not known for the time being, but at least for the time being, the plans of apple They are clearly directed in another direction.
However, the expected Apple AirPods with built -in infrared cameras are still on the horizon. There, the cameras will serve as a better spatial audio in combination with Vision Pro and other future products, as well as for the potential use of commands through hand gestures.
