Ipad sales run splendidly-Apple clearly before competition

Apple managed to stop significantly more tablets in the first quarter of 2025 than in the previous year comparison. The group had already announced this even when it was announced. Sales rose by 15 percent to $ 6.4 billion. The good figures have now also been confirmed by a well -known market research company that Apple sees clearly before the competition.

The Canalys company sees the number of iPads sold between January and March 2025 increase by a total of 14 percent. This is significantly more than the overall tablet market with an increase of 8.5 percent. A total of 36.8 million units worldwide are said to have been delivered. In China, demand increased thanks to government subsidies for the Chinese New Year. In the United States, there was a greater growth in January before the debate about the US government’s punitive tariff led to a slump in the market.

Apple dominates the tablet market with the iPad overall. 13.7 million units were delivered in the first quarter, which corresponded to a market share of 37.3 percent (previous year: 35.5 percent). Samsung followed in second place with a 18 percent market share (previous year: 20.6 percent). Third place went to Xiaomi, which was able to increase its market share from 5.8 to 8.3 percent. Lenovo and Huawei occupy the market share places 4 and 5, with Lenovo (6.9 percent) overtaking Huawei (6.5 percent) this year.

The fact that the tablet sector was able to grow properly in the first quarter of 2025 should also have to do with the fact that the Corona pandemic was now a good five years ago. At that time, many users bought new devices to be prepared for the home office. The hardware is getting old and is replaced step by step. At Apple, new variants of the standard IPAD (Generation 11) and the iPad Air (for the first time with M3 chip) came onto the market in the first quarter. The entry-level and the MITRANGE model are usually particularly in demand.

It is also interesting that Apple has so far succeeded in setting off the Chinese competition. Xiaomi storms forward and the Huawei sister brand Honor also increases in the area of the others. However, Samsung remains in second place.
