More production in India: How Apple deals with existing 145 percent criminal offenses

In addition to the significant increase in its iPhone production in India, Apple also wants to produce more accessories on the subcontinent and open up new factories. The aim is to bypass the high US criminal tariffs that are currently on 145 percent of goods produced in China depending on the product. In April, the Trump administration initially suspended the highly screwed customs set for some electronic items for 90 days. However, this does not affect all Apple devices, and the group fears that the suspension could not be permanent. In addition, the punitive tariffs on China products-most Apple articles still come from the People’s Republic-are already 20 percent, which is within the framework of the so-called Fentanyl tax was determined. Apple made provisions of $ 900 million in this quarter.

As the newspaper Economic Times, which appears in Mumba, now reports, more Airpods in India will soon be produced. Apple has concluded a new agreement with the supplier Jabil. In a second factory in the state of Tamil Nadu, Housing for the earplugs arise. At the same time, more housing means more end -assembled air pods from India. There will be a “significant increase” of production, as informed circles announced. It is part of Apple’s strategy to further diversify its supply chain, especially as part of the trade dispute between Beijing and Washington.

Jabil is currently producing the Airpods housing in Pune. A manufacturing already existing in Tamil Nadu could also quickly start the work. The end of the planning can be expected in June or July. Pre -suppliers such as Jabil are extremely important for overall production in India.

Currently, many parts are still coming from China for iPhone production and have to be exported and imported lengthy. In addition, the Chinese government and the customs there make difficulties, for example in the delivery of machine tools. If Apple were able to set up the supply chain as broadly as possible in India, this would make it easier to manufacture. However, this should only be achieved quickly for comparatively simple components – the plastic production includes.

20 percent of all iPhones are currently coming from India. By the end of next year, almost all Apple smartphones intended for the USA are said to come from the subcontinent. With the iPhone 17, at least the cheaper models could be fully developed in India for the first time, including the pre -production necessary for mass production. This is currently still being done in China and is a central step in the manufacture of the devices.
